We just saw a possible leaked photo of the new iPhone 7 and now we have some more details on Apple’s new iPhone 7 Plus.
The larger iPhone 7 Plus is rumored to come with a dual lens camera on the back and Sony were rumored to be supplying the camera for the handset.
According to a recent report by Chris Chang of Nomura Securities, Sony may not be able to supply all of the camera units Apple needs for the handset, so LG may be a second supplier of the camera for the device.
We think Sony may not be able to deliver its full share of dual cameras to Apple due to: (1) lower-than-expected yield, and (2) damage to its production facility from the April earthquake in Kumamoto.
Apple’s 7 Plus is expected to have a similar design to the iPhone 6S Plus, although the rear camera on the handset will be different. The device is expected to get a number of upgrades which will include the new Apple A10 processor and more RAM, plus iOS 10 which will be announced at WWDC next month.
Apple are expected to launch their new iPhones in September, we will have more details about the handsets closer to launch.
