As well as launching the Ideapad S10-3t Tablet Netbook, Lenovo has launched a new smartbook, the Lenovo Skylight Smartbook.
The Lenovo Skylight Smartbook features a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and a 10.1 inch LCD display, plus a custom Linux based OS with built-in web gadgets for easy access to services like Gmail and Facebook.
Specifications and Features
Other specifications include a battery which will give you an impressive ten hours of usage, and built-in WiFi plus 3G connectivity. This makes the Skylight Smartbook an ideal device for users who are constantly on the move and need reliable internet access. The device also comes with a full keyboard, which is a significant advantage over many other portable devices that rely solely on touchscreen input. As you can see from the photos, the device is a lot thinner than a netbook, making it highly portable and easy to carry around.
The Lenovo Skylight Smartbook also includes 20GB of cloud storage, allowing users to store and access their files from anywhere. This feature is particularly useful for business professionals and students who need to access documents and presentations on the go. Additionally, the device supports HD video playback, making it a great option for entertainment purposes as well.
Availability and Pricing
The Lenovo Skylight Smartbook will be available in April for $499 without a data contract. For those who prefer a subsidized price, AT&T will also be offering the Lenovo Skylight Smartbook at a reduced cost on a monthly data plan. This makes it more accessible for users who may not want to pay the full price upfront.
There are no details as yet on when we will see the Lenovo Skylight Smartbook in the UK and Europe. However, given Lenovo’s global reach and the increasing demand for portable computing devices, it is likely that the Skylight Smartbook will eventually be available in these markets as well.
The introduction of the Lenovo Skylight Smartbook marks an exciting development in the world of portable computing. With its powerful Snapdragon processor, long battery life, and built-in connectivity options, it offers a compelling alternative to traditional netbooks and tablets. Whether you are a business professional, a student, or simply someone who needs a reliable device for browsing the web and staying connected, the Skylight Smartbook is definitely worth considering.
