I got to see my first Lamborghini Huracan in traffic the other day, and it is a dead sexy car. It looks very much like the Aventador. Lamborghini has unveiled the Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder at the Frankfurt Motor Show. If you haven’t guessed, the 610 in the name is the power rating from the V10 engine under the hood of the car.
The -4 part is an ode to the fact that the car is all-wheel drive. Power from that big 5.2L V10 goes to the ground via a 7-speed dual clutch flappy paddle transmission. I can only imagine how loud it would be doing 201mph in a V10-powered drop top supercar. That top is an electrohydraulic soft top aiming for “pure Spyder feeling.”
Lambo says that the 0-62mph time for the Spyder is 3.4 seconds, a bit slower than the coupe at 3.2 seconds. That 201mph top speed for the Spyder is only 1mph less than the coupe offers. Pricing for the Huracan Spyder starts at about $211,000. Lambo expects to begin delivering the Huracan Spyder in the spring of 2016. The car uses an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis and has carbon ceramic brakes to slow it down.
