KTM has offered the awesome X-Bow track focused car in Europe for a long time. Those of us in the US with a hankering for somewhat odd high-performance cars meant for track days have been sad that we couldn’t get one. KTM has finally announced that will change and the X-Bow is bound for the US next year.
The confirmation came from KTM CEO Stefan Pierer. The US version of the X-Bow will use a 2.0L Audi inline four making 300hp thanks to a turbo charger. KTM wants to sell 30-40 of the cars each year in the US and expects to sell more than a few to fleets at racetracks for car folk to rent.
We can thank the new law in the US allowing low volume cars to be built and sold in the US. What we don’t know just yet is how much the X-Bow will cost in the US. In Europe, the selling price equates to over $93,000 in the US, which is extreme. There are lots of track day weapons that can be had in that price range including more than a few Porsche models.
