KTM has offered the awesome X-Bow track-focused car in Europe for a long time. Those of us in the US with a hankering for somewhat odd high-performance cars meant for track days have been sad that we couldn’t get one. KTM has finally announced that will change and the X-Bow is bound for the US next year.
The confirmation came from KTM CEO Stefan Pierer. The US version of the X-Bow will use a 2.0L Audi inline four making 300hp thanks to a turbocharger. KTM wants to sell 30-40 of the cars each year in the US and expects to sell more than a few to fleets at racetracks for car folk to rent.

What we don’t know just yet is how much the X-Bow will cost in the US. In Europe, the selling price equates to over $93,000 in the US, which is extreme. There are lots of track day weapons that can be had in that price range including more than a few Porsche models. However, the unique design, performance, and exclusivity of the X-Bow may justify the price for some enthusiasts.
In addition to individual buyers, KTM expects to sell a significant number of X-Bows to racetrack fleets. These cars will be available for rent, allowing more people to experience the thrill of driving a high-performance track car without the need to purchase one. This could also help to increase the car’s visibility and popularity in the US market.
