The new Koenigsegg Jesko was announced at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month. The car is set to be the world’s first 300 miles per hour production car, and it looks like it has already sold out.
There are going to be just 125 of the Jesko made, and each one costs $3 million. All have now been sold, and production of the car will start in 2020.
Innovative Engineering and Design
At the heart of this newly designed engine is the world’s lightest production V8 crankshaft. Weighing just 12.5 kilos, Koenigsegg’s new flat-plane 180-degree crankshaft allows Jesko to produce more power with greater efficiency, while achieving a higher 8500rpm rev limit. This engineering marvel is not just about raw power; it’s also about precision and efficiency. The lightweight crankshaft reduces rotational mass, which in turn allows the engine to rev more freely and produce power more efficiently.
The Jesko is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces an astonishing 1,280 horsepower on standard gasoline and up to 1,600 horsepower on E85 biofuel. This incredible power is managed by a nine-speed multi-clutch transmission, which Koenigsegg calls the “Light Speed Transmission” (LST). The LST is designed to provide seamless and lightning-fast gear changes, enhancing both performance and driving experience.
Advanced Aerodynamics and Performance
The Jesko’s aerodynamic design is another key factor in its ability to reach such high speeds. The car features an advanced active aerodynamics system, including a massive rear wing, front splitter, and rear diffuser. These elements work together to provide optimal downforce and stability at high speeds. The Jesko generates over 1,000 kg of downforce at 170 mph, ensuring that the car remains planted to the road even at extreme speeds.
The chassis of the Jesko is equally impressive. It features a carbon fiber monocoque that is both incredibly strong and lightweight. This construction not only contributes to the car’s overall performance but also enhances safety. The suspension system is another highlight, with a Triplex damper system at both the front and rear, providing exceptional handling and ride quality.
You can find out more details about the Koenigsegg Jesko. We suspect that as they are sold out, the value of them may have already gone up, even before they have been made. The exclusivity and groundbreaking performance of the Jesko make it a highly desirable collector’s item.
In addition to its performance capabilities, the Jesko also offers a range of luxury features. The interior is designed with both driver and passenger comfort in mind, featuring high-quality materials and advanced technology. The car comes equipped with a state-of-the-art infotainment system, climate control, and customizable seating options.
The Koenigsegg Jesko is not just a car; it’s a statement of what is possible when cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering come together. It represents the pinnacle of automotive performance and design, pushing the boundaries of what a production car can achieve.
