iTunes Radio which launched earlier this year on September 18th after being announced at the 2013 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference on June 10, 2013.
The new Apple iTunes Radio service is a free, ad-supported music streaming technology available to all iTunes users and features Siri integration on iOS.
Using iTunes Radio users are able to skip tracks, customise stations, and purchase the station’s songs from the Apple iTunes Store and now will allow iTunes Radio to offer pre-release album stream to users.
Expanding its services today Eddy Cue, the company’s senior VP for Internet Software and Services announced that Apple will use iTunes Radio to promote and stream albums before their release. Explaining:
“It’s a huge improvement to do it on iTunes Radio because you don’t go to a store a lot. Hopefully lots of people will be listening to iTunes Radio a lot; from a discovery perspective it’s significantly better,”
