We saw some photos of an iPhone 6 mockup compared to older iPhones earlier, and now we have some more information on what display will be used in Apple’s new iPhone.
Apple has been using in cell touch panels for its iPhone, this was introduced with the iPhone 5, although according to a recent report, they will switch to on cell technology or Touch On Display technology for the iPhone 6.
On cell technology allows for the touch layer of the display to be placed into the outer layer of the displays glass, and this apparently allows for production of higher quality displays.
The technology also comes with some other benefits, which includes a faster screen response time, improved color reproduction, no smear and no jitter.
We recently heard that Apple had signed a deal with Innolux to produce displays for their iPhone 6, this is the third company that Apple is working with on displays for the iPhone 6, they are also working with JDI and LG Display on the new iPhone.
The iPhone 6 is rumored to come in two different display sizes, one with a 4.7 inch display, the other with a 5.5 inch display, and we are expecting the 4.7 inch model in September and the larger model in October or November.
