When Apple launched the iPhone 5 in the US, the handset was available direct from Apple with the various mobile carriers, and now it looks like Apple will shortly be selling the unlocked version of the iPhone 5.
If you search Apple’s website for “iPhone 5 factory unlocked”, it shows the pricing of the devices with the 16GB model retailing for $649, the 32GB model for $749 and the 64GB model for $849, as you can see in the photo below.
There are no details as yet on when Apple intends to start selling the unlocked versions of the iPhone 5 in the US, here in the UK the unlocked versions have been available since launch, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.
