Yesterday we heard a rumor that the iPhone 5 would be a 4G LTE capable device, and now with the recent announcement of the UK’s first 4G LTE network from EE, it is possible that the iPhone 5 will be available with 4G LTE here in the UK.
Apple will officially announced their new iPhone 5 at a special press event tomorrow, we have already heard that the handset will come with a larger 4 inch display, a slimmer design, a new Nano SIM card and a new dock connector.
We recently saw a photo of a new battery for the iPhone 5 which is larger than the battery in the iPhone 4S, one reason for this could be to provide additional power to support 4G LTE, which uses more battery power.
EE will be the only network in the UK which will offer 4G LTE devices, so if the iPhone 5 is 4G LTE capable in the UK then this version will only be available with EE.
Other networks like O2, Three and Vodafone will only be able to offer the handset with 3G speeds, I guess we will find out tomorrow whether or not the UK version of the iPhone 5 will be LTE capable.
