A unique drawing pen has been created by Dozendots based in Los Angeles, California. Equipped with a neat piston system that allows the pen to create over 165 different patterns. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the innovative mechanism hidden inside the drawing pen which can be activated by simply moving the pen tip to different angles. “Depending on the pressure you apply, the angle in which you hold the pen and the speed of drawing, you can change the shape and the intensity of the patterns.”
The unique drawing pen has this week launched via Kickstarter and is now available from €35 offering a 50% discount off the recommended retail price which will take effect once the crowdfunding campaign comes to an end. Worldwide shipping is expected to start during June 2019.
Using the different lines created by the pen offers artists a wealth of new ways to add extra effects to their line drawings. The creators of the unique drawing pen explain more about its inspiration and design. Looking back, we had a very limited & naive ambition when we created the first version of INKI. We saw a lot of artists making awesome pointillism & dot drawings, and we were amazed at the numbers of hours-days-weeks they had to spent on the creation. So, we designed & 3D-printed the first prototype to speed up the process.”
