Earlier this year in April, Huawei introduced their latest flagship device, the Huawei P9. The handset is already available for sale in some regions.
If you’re based in India and want to get your hands on the smartphone, there’s some good news for you. Huawei dropped a hint that Huawei P9 may launch in the country next month.
“We are looking at the right time for launching P series devices in India,” said Huawei India Consumer Device Business Group President Allen Wang during the launch event of the company’s Honor 5C smartphone in the country. “We are evaluating ways to complement the phone with Indian user specific content before launching the device,” Wang further said. “For us P9 is not just a smartphone but an opportunity to collaborate with international brands. If Nexus 6P was all about Google, then P9 is all about Leica.”
Huawei P9 comes with a 5.2-inch display sporting a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, and is powered by the company’s in-house HiSilicon Kirin 955 processor. The handset comes in two versions: one featuring 3Gb of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the bigger version offers 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. There’s a 12MP Leica branded camera, 8MP front-facing camera, a 3,000 mAh battery and ships with Android Marshmallow out of the box.
