During the first week of this month it was announced by Valve and HTC that the companies had started sending out the new HTC Vive Pre virtual reality hardware to developers to test and use in the production of new games set to help launch the VR headset.
This week the first developers have announced via Twitter receipt of the new HTC Vive Pre VR hardware ahead of its launch later this year when it will compete with the likes of the Oculus Rift and others.
The second generation HTC Vive Pre is now lighter and provides users with improved ergonomics as well as a more refined SteamVR controller and a quieter and more enhanced Lighthouse Base station.
The HTC Vive Pre is now making its way to developers’ studios around the world. If you’ve been working with us to build content using the first version of our dev kit, check your inbox for the key and instructions you’ll use to upgrade that old kit to a new Vive PRE.
