As the HTC One M8 GPE has already started to receive the Android 5.1 update, we suspect that it won’t be very long before the update is released for the HTC One M7 Google Play Edition.
What to Expect from the Android 5.1 Lollipop Update
The Android 5.1 Lollipop update brings a host of new features and improvements to the HTC One M7 GPE. Users can expect enhanced performance, better battery management, and a more intuitive user interface. One of the key features of this update is the improved notification system, which allows users to manage their notifications more efficiently. Additionally, the update includes support for multiple SIM cards, which is a significant advantage for users who travel frequently or use their device for both personal and professional purposes.
Another notable feature is the Device Protection, which ensures that your phone remains locked even if it is reset to factory settings, unless you log in with your Google account. This adds an extra layer of security to your device, making it more difficult for unauthorized users to access your data.
How to Prepare for the Update
Before you receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update on your HTC One M7 GPE, there are a few steps you should take to ensure a smooth transition. First, make sure your device is fully charged or connected to a power source. This will prevent any interruptions during the update process. Next, back up your important data, such as contacts, photos, and documents. While the update process is designed to preserve your data, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
You should also ensure that you have enough storage space available on your device. The update file can be quite large, and insufficient storage space can cause the update to fail. To free up space, consider deleting unused apps, clearing cache files, and transferring media files to an external storage device or cloud service.
Once you have completed these preparations, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. If the update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.
If you receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update on your HTC One M7 GPE, leave a comment below and let us know about your experience. Your feedback can help other users understand what to expect and how to make the most of the new features.
