Good news of you are the owner of a HTC Droid Eris Android smartphone, as it looks like Verizon will be updating the Eris to the latest version of Google Android later this month, Android 2.1.
Details have been revealed on the Droid Eris support pages, that confirm that it will be getting an update to the Android OS later this month, although no details on the exact version it will most probably be Android 2.1.
The Verizon DROID Eris features a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera, built in WiFi, a microSD card slot which can take up to 16GB cards and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
On top of that, the Verizon DROID Eris also features Bluetooth, a full HTML browser with Flash Lite, a digital compass, voice dialling, GPS, plus supports for a range of Google services.
