If you have ever built some flat pack furniture, like the furniture you get from Ikea, then you will know what a pain these things are to assemble, will all the screws, bolts and Allen keys.
Now designer Benjamin Vermeulen has come up with a new way for flat pack furniture to be assembled, his furniture contains strong magnets that hold the pieces of the furniture together one they have been assembled, have a look at the video below.
His furniture is called MAG )magnetic Assisted Geomtery) and is is made from a combination of sheet steel and solid wood, the wooden parts contain magnets inside and can easily be clicked together without the need for any tools.

Benjamin designed his MAg furniture for his graduation at the Design Academy Einhoven and it was presented at the Ducth design week.
This is one of those creations that makes you think, why nobody thought of it before, a very clever idea, and we suspect we may see this in flat pack furniture in the future.
It certainly would make assembly of flat pack furniture a lot easier than current methods with all the screws and bolts.
