Google’s [GOOG] Android platform is becoming more popular, with a range of new handsets already released this year, and quite a few more to come, Android is fastly becoming a very popular mobile phone platform.
The Android Market, which serves applications to Android smartphone users is becoming increasingly more popular as well, especially with application developers.
According to AndroLib, who have bee carefully monitoring the Android Market, around 9,300 new application were added to the Android Market in March 2010. This is an increase of about 68% over February 2010.
The 9,300 new applications that were added to the Android Market in March, include both paid and free applications. 2010 is definitely Android’s year, it will be interesting to see how many applications have been released by the end of the year and how popular the platform will become.
