A possible future competitor to Google’s Google Glass eyewear has been launched over on the indiegogo crowd funding website this month, providing a lighter weight alternative to the Google Glass eywear.
The creators and developers of the new GlassUp devices are currently hoping to raise $150,000 via indiegogo and say that their GlassUp eyewear is more focused on showing information, in a very utilitarian approach and provides a “receive only” system for users. “Team member Gianluigi, who had developed optical systems for airplane pilots’ helmets, knew from the start that the information had to appear almost in the center of the field of view, vs forcing you to look laterally. This is the main issue we worked on, and only when we found the technical solution we went on with the project.”
“We will start with one or two designs, but we plan to have a more varied product line (sport, casual, high-tech, business, etc.), as soon as it makes financial sense. We have already presented our technology to the Italian fashion business, and various brands are willing to work with us.”
The GlassUp project is currently over on the indiegogo website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production. So if you think GlassUp is something you could benefit from, visit the indiegogo website now to make a pledge and help GlassUp become a reality.
