GMC has announced that starting in early June buyers of the Sierra truck will be able to get the GMC Sierra CarbonPro Edition at select dealerships. The CarbonPro edition will be offered on the Denali 1500 and the Sierra AT4 1500.
The special edition has a CarbonPro bed made of carbon fiber that brings more strength and durability with less weight; the bed is 25% lighter than a steel bed. The CarbonPro bed is scratch resistant and dent resistant. The carbon fiber will stand up to weathering over the life of the truck.
The CarbonPro bed holds more stuff than the normal steel bed with the CarbonPro offering one cubic foot more space. The bed also has indents for the tires of dirt and street bikes. GMC says that it ran a snowmobile test with a 250-pound rider and there was minimal scratching to the bed. The special bed will be offered on additional trims in the 2020 model year; pricing is unannounced.
