Ford has a history of offering free performance driving instruction to buyers of its high-end performance cars. This started back in 2012 with the Boss 302 where buyers could go to Utah and get track driving instruction from pros. Ford has now announced that it will be giving free lesson on driving to focus RS buyers as well at the Ford Performance Racing School in Grantsville, Utah.
The free one-day course is available to owners of 2016 and 2017 Focus RS cars. The event is held at the former Miller Motorsports Park complex outside Salt Lake City. The school is known as the RS Adrenaline Academy and is similar to other Ford driving programs in that participants have to foot the bill for their travel and lodging to the school, but Ford picks up the school costs.
The event will include classroom instruction as well as track time to teach shifting, braking, and cornering. The school also teaches students how to use drift mode. Buyers can add a second day at the track in a Mustang GT as an option. Ford promises class schedules will be available soon. It’s always good when ford teaches drivers how to handle their performance cars.
