Carbo a bicycle design and development team based in Montréal, Canada have created a lightweight folding electric bike which has been specifically designed to “redefine what a folding Ebike should be”. Weighing just 12.9 kg and being marketed as the world’s lightest electric bike the Carbo is equipped with a 500 W peak power supply offering a range of 60 km or 40 miles with pebble assistance or 28 miles in 45 km using just the electric motor. Speeds of up to 20mph or 32 km/h can be reached throughout the United States but importantly this has been restricted to 25 km/h throughout Europe.
The team at carbo consists of cycling enthusiasts and electric bike passionates that have one goal in mind. “Build the lightest, most performant electric bike – carefully engineered for easy use and durability.” Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the design and functionality of the Carbo electric bike which is now available to back via Indiegogo with early bird pledges available from $999. If all goes well worldwide shipping is expected to take place during March 2019.
