Back in July of 2010, Facebook announced that they had reached a massive 500 million users, and almost 12 months on it looks like Facebook is close to the 700 million users mark, according to research carried out by Social Bakers.
That would mean that in just under a year Facebook has added another 200 million users to their ranks, an increase of 40 percent in 12 months is pretty impressive. If Facebook continues to grow at the same rate over the next year, that would take them close to 1 billion users.

Brazil has had the most new Facebook users over the last month, with an increase of more than 11 percent, adding 1.9 million new Facebook users. This surge in Brazil can be attributed to the increasing internet penetration and the growing popularity of social media platforms in the country. Following Brazil, Indonesia and the Philippines have also shown significant growth. Indonesia, with its large population and increasing smartphone usage, has seen a substantial rise in Facebook users. Similarly, the Philippines, known for its high social media engagement, has contributed significantly to Facebook’s user base.
