If you have fancied owning your very own flying camera drone, but have been put off by the hefty price tags attached to such gadgets. You might be pleased to know that a new camera drone called the Eye3 is currently looking for funding over on the Kickstarter website.
The Eye3 has been designed by Kellie Sigler to provide a professional quality yet affordable flying robotic camera platform. Sigler has been building, programming and flying camera drones for many years and has created a low-cost kit, that practically anyone will be able to assemble she says. The eye3’s inertial management and autopilot functions are handled by the incredibly compact yet powerful APM2. Which is an open source platform which has a large team of committed programmers ensuring that the software is constantly improving with new features being added regularly.
The hexacopter frame of the Eye3 camera drone is constructed of high precision carbon and glass fiber, and weighs just 500g, and has been designed to land even if two rotors on the vehicle fail.
