Epic have their finger in many pies, but they’re not calling all of them a “ridiculously compelling experience,” that’s for sure. So all of you organizing candlelight vigils for the PSP, DS and good old traditional Gameboy-style portable gaming in general can hold firm for a while yet. Epic’s Mark Rein says there’s definitely gold at the end of Sony’s rainbow.
“When you get your hands round that device and you see some of the things that are going to ship on it, you’ll go ‘Want. Want, want, want,'” he says. Too late, Mark Rein, I already did that with the jpeg. What else you got? “The NGP delivers it in spades. You really do want to play those kinds of games on it for sustained periods of time. Sat down on your couch, or in a hotel room, or somewhere you don’t have a big TV. It’s a fantastic experience.” I wouldn’t start investing in little iPhone-shaped coffins just yet, but a slightly larger gadget bag? That’s a different story.
