Check out this new toy from Fisher Price, Elmo Live.
The new Elmo Live seems to actually be speaking as his mouth opens and closes just like the real Muppet, Elmo, from Sesame Street. Elmo Live waves his arms, sits and stands, even crosses his legs, all the while telling stories and jokes, singing songs and playing games.
Check out this video of him in action.
This has to be one of the most impressive toys I have seen, Elmo Live will go on sale in the US in October, and you can bet this is going to be the most wanted toy for Christmas 2008.
Features and Interactivity
Elmo Live is not just any ordinary toy; it is a marvel of modern toy engineering. The toy is designed to mimic the beloved character Elmo from Sesame Street with remarkable accuracy. When Elmo Live speaks, his mouth opens and closes in sync with his words, creating an illusion that he is actually talking. This feature alone sets it apart from many other toys on the market. But that’s not all—Elmo Live is also capable of waving his arms, sitting and standing, and even crossing his legs. These movements are coordinated with his storytelling, joke-telling, singing, and game-playing, making him an interactive companion for children.
Educational Value
Beyond entertainment, Elmo Live offers educational benefits. The toy encourages children to engage in imaginative play, which is crucial for cognitive development. By listening to Elmo’s stories and jokes, children can improve their language skills and expand their vocabulary. The songs Elmo sings often have educational themes, teaching children about numbers, letters, and social skills. Additionally, the interactive nature of the toy can help children develop their motor skills as they mimic Elmo’s movements or participate in the games he initiates.
The Elmo Live will retail for $59.99, which is a reasonable price considering the advanced features and educational benefits it offers. Given its interactive capabilities and the beloved character it represents, it’s no surprise that Elmo Live is expected to be one of the most sought-after toys for Christmas 2008.
