Dodge has decided to revive two of its storied heritage models for the 2017 model year. The new versions include the Challenger T/A and the Charger Daytona. These two models get upgraded performance and heritage style that muscle car fans will love. The Challenger T/A gets cold Air Catcher headlamps to slurp in more fresh air and LED illuminated T/A logos on the side.
A directed cold-air hood system feeds more air into a modified SRT Hellcat air box on T/A models. Both the T/A and the Charger Daytona get a Mopar cold-air induction system with conical air filter as standard. Both vehicles also get 2.75-inch electronically controlled active exhaust on the 5.7L V8 models.
Enhanced Performance Features
The cars also get 20×9 and 20×9.5 wheels to improve handling. Performance brake linings help the car stop and 6.4L versions get Brembo brakes. Satin Black graphics and available hood pins on the T/A improve style. Some limited edition paint colors are offered including Go Green, and a revised Yellow Jacket hue available on both cars. Ordering for the Challenger T/A will start in October with ordering for the Charger Daytona starting in September.
The Challenger T/A models are equipped with a high-performance suspension system that includes Bilstein shocks, which are designed to provide better handling and a smoother ride. The Charger Daytona, on the other hand, comes with a performance-tuned suspension that enhances its agility and responsiveness on the road. Both models also feature upgraded sway bars and bushings to further improve their handling characteristics.
Interior and Technology Upgrades
Inside, both the Challenger T/A and Charger Daytona come with a host of modern amenities and technology features. The Challenger T/A features a driver-focused cockpit with performance seats that offer enhanced support during spirited driving. The Charger Daytona’s interior is equally impressive, with premium materials and a sporty design that complements its aggressive exterior.
Both models come standard with the latest Uconnect infotainment system, which includes an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility. The system also offers navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and a premium audio system for an immersive listening experience. Additionally, both models are equipped with advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert to ensure a safe and enjoyable driving experience.
Heritage-Inspired Design
The exterior design of the Challenger T/A and Charger Daytona pays homage to their storied past while incorporating modern design elements. The Challenger T/A features a satin black hood, roof, and decklid, along with T/A side stripes and a T/A spoiler. The Charger Daytona, on the other hand, boasts a unique front fascia, a satin black rear spoiler, and Daytona decals on the rear quarter panels.
Both models are available in a range of heritage-inspired colors, including the iconic Go Green and Yellow Jacket hues. These limited edition paint colors not only enhance the visual appeal of the cars but also make them stand out on the road.
The revival of the Challenger T/A and Charger Daytona for the 2017 model year brings a perfect blend of heritage style and modern performance to the Dodge lineup. With their upgraded performance features, advanced technology, and heritage-inspired design, these models are sure to appeal to muscle car enthusiasts and collectors alike.
