Land Rover has unveiled a new SUV that it claims is the ultimate all-terrain Land Rover Discovery. The SUV is called the Discovery SVX and it will be the first Land Rover assembled by and at the SVO Technical Centre when it goes into production in 2018.
The supercharged V8 engine makes 525PS and 625 Nm of torque. The SVX also has suspension tweaks to allow it more articulation and off-road prowess. This vehicle has Hydraulic Active Roll Control (H-ARC) for increased wheel articulation and improved body control. The system also makes for better ride and handling on the road as well.
Land Rover says the SVX has improved approach, departure, and breakover angles thanks to a raised aluminum monocoque and air suspension all around. SVX buyers also get long travel dampers, revised knuckles, and larger diameter wheels with 275/55 R20 goodyear Wrangler tires. Pricing for the Discovery SVX is unannounced, but expect it to be high.
