Diamond Multimedia has unveiled its plans to launch a new Android set-top box later this year in the form of the new created AMP2000, which builds on the technology used in their AMP1000 device.
The AMP2000 Set-top box will be be supplied with access to Google’s TV service, but exact details of other features are still to be released by Diamond Multimedia.
The AMP2000 has been designed to work with HDMI ready TVs and will be able to stream Hulu Plus, Netflix and any other content you can find on Google’s Play Store.
Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet, but its expected to ship “sometime in March or April 2013”. As soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.
