
Dodge has rolled out a new flavor of the SRT Hellcat just to prove to fans that it hasn’t been forgotten in the face of the new and awesome Demon. The new Hellcat flavor is the Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody and it sells for a MSRP of $71,495 including gas guzzler tax but not counting destination. The Widebody gets the fender flares from the Demon adding 3.5-inches of width to the car compared to the standard SRT Hellcat.
Enhanced Performance and Design
The Widebody rides on 20×11 Devil’s Rim split five spoke aluminum wheels. The meats on those rims are 305/35ZR20 P-Zero performance tires rather than the drag radials that you can get with the Demon. These tires are designed to offer a balance between everyday usability and high-performance capabilities, making the Widebody a versatile option for both street and track use.
Dodge says that the Hellcat Widebody was about 2 seconds per lap faster than the normal Hellcat on a 1.7-mile track. That equates to about 13 car lengths after a single lap. This improvement in lap times can be attributed to the enhanced grip and stability provided by the wider tires and fender flares. The Widebody also gets standard EPS (Electric Power Steering) with SRT Drive modes, which allows drivers to customize their driving experience based on their preferences and driving conditions.
Power and Availability
Under the hood, the Hellcat Widebody keeps the 707hp 6.2L V8 engine that has become synonymous with the Hellcat name. This supercharged engine delivers an exhilarating driving experience, with a 0-60 mph time of just 3.4 seconds. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which provides smooth and quick gear changes, further enhancing the car’s performance.
