BMW has shown off their new BMW M4 concept Iconic Lights at this years CES, the standard bulbs on the M4 have been replaced with OLED bulbs.
These new BMW M4 Iconic Lights give us an idea of what the future lights on BMW’s will look like, the company says that these new lights are ten times more powerful than Xenon or LED lights which are currently used in BMW vehicles.
The BMW Iconic Lights have a projection range of 600 meters and as they are considerably brighter than existing lights this could be a problem for oncoming traffic, although they will be controlled by a set of cameras which cant detect oncoming traffic.
As well as being able to detect oncoming traffic, these new lights can also detect people and animals using an infrared camera and they will then highlight the person or the animal which could help you avoid someone or something n your path when you are driving at night.
BMW have not revealed when they plan to launch these new BMW M4 Iconic Lights in the vehicles, the certainly look very cool from the photos.
