There is no denying the fact that BMW makes some of the most luxurious and some of the sportiest cars for sale in America. The BMW M series are some of the most popular luxurious sports cars on the planet. While the most popular in that range is probably the M3, that’s certainly not the only M-series car BMW makes.
On the higher-end of the company’s sporty range comes the M5 and the M6, which are honestly geared more towards luxury than outright sport. BMW has announced a new Competition Package will be available starting in July for both of those vehicles that up the output of the standard V-8 engine under the hood hp. The Competition Package gives both vehicles a 15 hp boost bringing total output to 567 hp.
The package also brings 20-inch M wheels along with the sport exhaust and black chrome exhaust tips. Other than a slight boost in horsepower the Competition Package also brings some chassis modifications such as improved stabilizer bars for better handling. The M5 is also lowered around 10 mm when equipped with the Competition Package. Another interesting tidbit that the package adds is a BMW Active M Differential to provide improved traction and driving precision. BMW hasn’t announced pricing for the Competition Package just yet, but you can count on this being more expensive option for the vehicles.
