The Bluetooth SIG Authority has this week unveiled a new roadmap for Bluetooth in 2016 which will see the release of a new update that will increase the performance of Bluetooth by 100 percent.
The speed increase will be created without increasing energy consumption and will provide developers with faster data transfers for Bluetooth connected devices across all sectors improving responsiveness and lowering latency.
Mark Powell, executive director, Bluetooth SIG explains a little more :
The Bluetooth technology roadmap is a powerful expression of our mission to continue as a catalyst for industry innovation. Bluetooth has been adopted by countless developers and manufacturers as their connectivity solution of choice for the IoT. The new functionality we will soon be adding will further solidify Bluetooth as the backbone of IoT technology.
