With the Battlefield 4 beta underway this week, new footage is now being released showing what you can expect from the Xbox 360 version of the Battlefield 4 beta game compared to the E3 demo that was run on PC. Check it out after the jump.
The new Battlefield 4 Beta demo launched as a Battlefield 4 Exclusive Beta yesterday and will be followed shortly afterwards by the Battlefield 4 Open Beta on October 4th, 2013.
Battlefield 4 Beta Launch Details
The Battlefield 4 Beta open beta available to all will go live on October 4th with it rolling out on PC at 9am UK time on the 4th and Xbox 360 worldwide from 2am – 6am PDT, or 10am-2pm UK time.
Within Europe, the Battlefield 4 beta launches on PS3 from 7am – 11am PDT, or 3pm-7pm UK time, and in the US it goes live on PS3 at 11am PDT. This staggered release schedule ensures that players across different platforms and regions can access the beta smoothly without overwhelming the servers.
What to Expect from the Beta
The beta version of Battlefield 4 offers a glimpse into the full game, featuring a selection of maps and modes that highlight the game’s new mechanics and graphical enhancements. Players can expect to experience the “Siege of Shanghai” map, which showcases the game’s dynamic environments and destructible buildings. This map is designed to give players a taste of the large-scale battles and strategic gameplay that Battlefield 4 is known for.
In addition to the map, the beta includes the “Conquest” and “Domination” game modes. Conquest mode is a staple of the Battlefield series, featuring large-scale battles with vehicles and infantry fighting for control of key points on the map. Domination mode, on the other hand, is a more infantry-focused experience with faster-paced action and smaller maps.
Comparing Xbox 360 and PC Versions
One of the key points of interest for many players is how the Xbox 360 version of the Battlefield 4 beta compares to the PC version showcased at E3. The PC version, running on high-end hardware, demonstrated the game’s full graphical potential with stunning visuals, detailed textures, and smooth frame rates. The Xbox 360 version, while not as visually impressive due to the hardware limitations of the older console, still manages to deliver a solid gameplay experience with acceptable graphics and performance.
Players who have had the opportunity to play both versions have noted that while the PC version offers a more immersive and visually striking experience, the core gameplay mechanics remain consistent across both platforms. This ensures that players on the Xbox 360 can still enjoy the strategic depth and large-scale battles that Battlefield 4 is known for.
Community Feedback and Future Updates
As with any beta, player feedback is crucial for the developers to identify and address any issues before the full release of the game. Early feedback from the exclusive beta has been generally positive, with players praising the game’s mechanics and the new features introduced in Battlefield 4. However, some players have reported issues with server stability and minor bugs, which the developers are actively working to resolve.
The open beta will provide an even larger pool of players, allowing the developers to gather more data and make necessary adjustments. This iterative process ensures that the final release of Battlefield 4 will be as polished and enjoyable as possible.
