These two model numbers probably refer to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. There is also rumored to be another version of the handset with a 4K display, the S7 Premium. This would mark a significant leap in display technology, offering users an unprecedented level of clarity and detail, especially beneficial for VR applications and high-definition media consumption.
Expected Features and Specifications
The Galaxy S7 series is expected to come with a range of impressive features. According to various leaks and rumors, the handsets will likely be powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor or Samsung’s own Exynos 8890, depending on the region. This would ensure top-notch performance and efficiency. Additionally, the devices are expected to come with 4GB of RAM, which would provide smooth multitasking capabilities.
The camera setup is another area where the Galaxy S7 series is expected to shine. Rumors suggest a 12-megapixel rear camera with improved low-light performance and faster autofocus. This would be a step down in terms of megapixels from the Galaxy S6’s 16-megapixel camera, but Samsung is reportedly focusing on enhancing the overall image quality rather than just increasing the pixel count.
Release Date and Market Impact
Evan Blass also confirmed details about the release date of the handsets, mentioning an early to mid-quarter one release. This ties in with what we have heard previously about the handset launching in February. An early release would give Samsung a head start over its competitors, allowing it to capture a significant market share before other flagship devices are launched later in the year.
The Galaxy S7 series is expected to come with a range of other features, including water and dust resistance, a microSD card slot for expandable storage, and a larger battery for extended usage. These features would address some of the criticisms that were directed at the Galaxy S6 series, making the S7 a more well-rounded and user-friendly device.
As soon as we get some more details about Samsung’s new flagship smartphones and some more details on the handsets’ specifications, we will let you guys know. The anticipation surrounding the Galaxy S7 series is palpable, and it will be interesting to see how Samsung’s latest offerings stack up against the competition.
