Archos has this week announced that they will be launching a new addition to their range of tablet with the launch of the new Archos 101 XS 2 next month.
The Archos 101 XS 2 Android tablet is powered by a quad-core processor featuring four Cortex-A9 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz and four Mali 400 MP4 GPU cores supported by 2GB of RAM and comes supplied with a keyboard cover and is fitted with a 10.1 inch IPS screen offering a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.
The new Archos 101 XS 2 will be available in the US for around $279 and will be landing in the UK around the same time for £250 running Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and will comes pre-loaded with OfficeSuite Pro 6 software, and Archos Media Center software.

Using over 12 years of mobile video and audio experience, these apps are designed to play every file and video available, including true 1080p HD video,”-“The Archos Media Center includes a special video carousel to easily organize and find movie and TV show information by title, series, actor and more.”
Internal storage on the tablet is 16GB but can be increased to 64GB with the use of microSD cards. The Archos 101 XS 2 is fitted with a 2 megapixel front facing camera for video calling, together with a 2 megapixel rear facing for video and photographs.
Other features include dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, support for WiFi direct, miniHDMI output and its fitted with a handy microUSB 2.0 port which supports the connection of external USB devices.For more information on the new Archos 101 XS 2 jump over to the Archos website for details.
