Apple released their first beta of iOS 11 at WWDC 2017. Since then, there have been further releases, and we are now on iOS 11 Beta 4. Now we have a video of iOS 11 Beta 4 vs iOS 11 Beta 1.
The two beta versions of iOS 11 are tested side by side on two iPhone 5S handsets. The iPhone 5S was used as it is the slowest 64-bit iPhone available.
Performance Improvements
As we can see from the video, there are various improvements in the fourth beta of iOS 11 when compared to the first. This includes quite a difference in the time it takes for the two handsets to boot up. The boot time is significantly faster in iOS 11 Beta 4, showcasing Apple’s efforts to optimize the operating system for better performance even on older devices like the iPhone 5S.
In addition to boot time, other performance metrics such as app launch speed, multitasking efficiency, and overall system responsiveness have seen noticeable enhancements. For instance, opening apps like Safari, Messages, and Camera is quicker in Beta 4, making the user experience smoother and more fluid.
New Features and Enhancements
iOS 11 Beta 4 also brings a host of new features and enhancements over Beta 1. One of the most talked-about features is the revamped Control Center, which is now customizable and more intuitive. Users can add or remove shortcuts, making it easier to access frequently used settings and apps.
Another significant update is the improved Siri functionality. Siri in iOS 11 Beta 4 is more intelligent and offers better voice recognition. It can now translate languages, provide more contextually relevant suggestions, and integrate more seamlessly with third-party apps.
The Files app, introduced in iOS 11, has also seen improvements. It now supports more file types and offers better integration with cloud storage services like iCloud, Dropbox, and Google Drive. This makes file management on iOS devices more versatile and user-friendly.
Apple has also focused on enhancing the ARKit framework, which allows developers to create augmented reality experiences. Beta 4 includes more robust tools and features for AR development, paving the way for more immersive and interactive apps.
Apple is expected to release iOS 11 sometime in September. The OS will be released along with Apple’s new iPhone 8, iPhone 7S, and 7S Plus handsets. These three devices are expected sometime in September.
As soon as we get some more information on exactly when Apple intends to release their iOS 11 software update, we will let you guys know.
