The mid range Apple Watch model comes with a sapphire display, sapphire glass is incredibly tough and scratch resistant and have been used in watches for years by Swiss watch makers.
The guys from iPhonefixed got their hands on a sapphire glass display for the Apple Watch and the video below shows the display being put up against a hammer and a drill.
As you can see from the video there is no damage to the sapphire display on the Apple Watch, which really does not come as a surprise, if you performed the same test on a normal wrist watch with a sapphire display, you would get similar results.
The Apple Watch will go up for pre-order this morning at 8.01 AM in the UK and the device goes on sale on the 24th of April.
