The Apple Watch goes on sale next month and Apple’s new wearable gadget will be available with a choice of three materials, aluminum, stainless steel and gold.
Now according to a recent report Apple will launch another three version of their Apple Watch before the end of the year and these will come with three new materials.
The news comes from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who has a good track record with Apple predictions in the past, you can see what he has to say below.
Aside from current casing materials of aluminum, stainless steel and 18k gold, we believe 1-3 new versions of Apple Watch featuring new casing materials are likely to go into mass production in 4Q15. If this is the case, we think it could boost Apple Watch shipments momentum in 4Q15-1Q16.
There have been rumors that Apple will launch a platinum version of the Apple Watch, which could end up being even more expensive that the $17,000 gold version.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Apple was also looking at a ceramic version of the Apple Watch, as this is a material that is currently used by the watchmaking industry for cases. Another possible material for Apple’s smartwatch could be titanium, this is also another material that is currently used for watch cases by the watch industry.
As soon as we get some more information on exactly what Apple has planned for their new smartwatch later in the year, we will let you guys know. The device will go on sale in the 24th of April and will go up for pre-order on the 10th of April.
