The Apple Watch will go on sale some time in April and according to a recent report there could be more than 100,000 apps available for the device at launch.
There are a number of developers working on apps for the Apple Watch launch and we have already seen a few apps for the device.
The news comes from analyst Trip Chowdry from Global Equities research who has been looking into apps for the device and has attended six ‘Apple Watch-Kit hackathons over the last few months.
Whilst 100,000 apps may seem quite a lot for the launch of a new device, there are millions of apps available for the iPhone and iPad so this number does not seem unreasonable.
There will be three versions of the device at launch, the entry level ‘Sport’ model which will retail for $349, a stainless steel models and also the high end ‘Watch Edition’ which will be 18K gold and could retail for as much as $10,000.
