As well as releasing the new tvOS 9.0.1 software update, Apple also released the tvOS 9.1 beta. The beta was released last week and it apparently brings Apple Music support to Siri.
Apple mentioned in the past that they would be bringing Apple Music support to Siri on the Apple TV, and in the latest beta, Siri can now be used to search for tracks on Apple Music.
Enhanced Siri Capabilities
As well as searching for tracks, Siri can also be used to play Apple’s Beats 1 radio, and it also comes with more features. This integration allows users to simply ask Siri to play their favorite songs, albums, or playlists from Apple Music, making the experience more seamless and hands-free. For instance, you can say, “Hey Siri, play the latest song by Taylor Swift,” and Siri will fetch and play the track for you. This feature is particularly useful for those who enjoy a hands-free experience while multitasking or relaxing at home.
Moreover, Siri’s capabilities extend beyond just playing music. Users can ask Siri for information about the songs, such as “Who sings this song?” or “What album is this from?” This makes the Apple TV not just a media player but an interactive music assistant.
Additional Features and Improvements
The video below shows Apple Music integration with Siri and gives you an idea of some of the features that will be available when the update lands.
In addition to music search and playback, the tvOS 9.1 beta includes several other enhancements aimed at improving the overall user experience. For example, the update is expected to bring better app-switching capabilities, allowing users to quickly switch between different apps without losing their place. This is particularly beneficial for those who use multiple streaming services or apps simultaneously.
Another notable feature is the improved user interface, which aims to make navigation more intuitive and user-friendly. The new interface includes refined menus and easier access to settings, making it simpler for users to customize their Apple TV experience.
Furthermore, the update is expected to include bug fixes and performance improvements, ensuring a smoother and more reliable experience. These enhancements are crucial for maintaining the high standards that Apple users have come to expect.
As yet, there are no details on when iOS 9.1 will land on the Apple TV. As soon as we get some more details, we will let you guys know.
