Yesterday Apple rolled out a new update to their Apple TV set top boxes adding a selection of new dedicated channels that include Vevo, Disney Channel, Disney XD, Weather Channel, and content from the Smithsonian Channel.
The new channels have been added to Apple TV using dedicated applications that are now accessible from the main Apple TV menu. The new additions follow on from the recently added HBO Go, WatchESPN, Sky News, CrunchyRoll and Qello Apple TV applications.
Apple is also rumoured to be currently in discussions with Time Warner Cable to provide streaming content to existing cable subscribers without the need to have a dedicated table box. But no details of a launch date have been announced as yet.
The latest Apple TV update is available over-the-air and is free to download to your Apple TV box. Enjoy!
“Apple TV with 1080p HD gives you access to the best content, blockbuster movies, TV shows, sports, your music and photos, and more right on your widescreen TV. You can even play content from your iOS devices on your TV using AirPlay. Best of all, Apple TV is just $99.”
