At the moment Apple allows people purchasing an iPhone or iPad the ability to trade in their existing Apple devices against a new model and now it would Apple that the company may start accepting other devices.
According to 9 to 5 Mac, Apple is looking to lure Android users to the iPhone and the company will allow these users to trade in their non Apple devices against an iPhone.
It would appear that Apple is also looking to get BlackBerry device owners to switch to the iPhone as well and the company will also accept trade-ins of these devices.
Owners of non Apple device will apparently be able to trade in their BlackBerry or Android device online and in Apple retail stores and get a credit towards the purchase of a new iPhone or iPad.
It will be interesting to see what prices Apple offers for trade ins of BlackBerry and Android devices, as their prices for the iPhone and iPad trade ins have not been as good as some offerings from other companies.
Apple will apparently start using this new trade in program at their retail stores within the next few weeks and it will be interesting to see if the company’s new strategy gets Android and BlackBerry owners to switch to the iPhone.
