As well as revealing its financial results for its fiscal second quarter of 2017, Apple also revealed how many devices it had sold in the quarter, the company sold a total of 50.7 million iPhones in the quarter.
This is down from the same quarter in 2016, where Apple sold a total of 51.2 million iPhones, they also sold 8.92 million iPads, this is also down from 10.2 million iPads for the same quarter last year.
“We are proud to report a strong March quarter, with revenue growth accelerating from the December quarter and continued robust demand for iPhone 7 Plus,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We’ve seen great customer response to both models of the new iPhone 7 (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition and we’re thrilled with the strong momentum of our Services business, with our highest revenue ever for a 13-week quarter. Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome attendees from around the world to our annual Worldwide Developers Conference next month in San Jose.”
Sales of the Mac were up to 4.19 million from the quarter which compares to 4.03m in the previous year and their service revenue also grew by 18% to $7.04 billion.
