Apple has released a new beta of iOS 11 to developers, iOS 11 beta 8, and the software is now also available for members of Apple’s public beta testing program.
The iOS 11 beta 8 brings a wide range of new features to the iPhone and iPad, and we are expecting Apple to release the software sometime next month.
New Features and Improvements
The iOS 11 beta 8 introduces several new features and improvements designed to enhance the user experience on both the iPhone and iPad. One of the most notable additions is the revamped Control Center, which is now customizable, allowing users to add or remove shortcuts based on their preferences. This makes accessing frequently used settings and apps more convenient.
Another significant update is the improved multitasking capabilities on the iPad. With iOS 11, users can take advantage of the new Dock, which provides quick access to their favorite and recently used apps. Additionally, the Split View and Slide Over features have been enhanced, making it easier to work with multiple apps simultaneously.
The Files app is another noteworthy addition, providing a centralized location for all your files, whether they are stored locally, in iCloud, or on third-party services like Dropbox. This makes file management more straightforward and efficient.
Augmented Reality and Machine Learning
iOS 11 also brings advancements in augmented reality (AR) and machine learning. The ARKit framework allows developers to create immersive AR experiences that blend digital objects with the real world. This opens up new possibilities for gaming, shopping, education, and more. For example, users can now visualize how furniture would look in their home before making a purchase or explore interactive educational content in a more engaging way.
Machine learning has been integrated into various aspects of iOS 11, enhancing features like Siri and the Photos app. Siri is now more intelligent and can provide more contextually relevant suggestions based on your usage patterns. The Photos app uses machine learning to identify and organize your photos better, making it easier to find specific images or create personalized memories.
If you are a registered developer or a member of Apple’s public beta testing program, then the iOS 11 beta 8 is now available to download. To install the beta, navigate to the Apple Developer Center or the public beta website, sign in with your Apple ID, and follow the instructions provided.
We are expecting iOS 11 to be released along with the new iPhone 8, iPhone 7S, and iPhone 7S Plus when they are launched next month. The new iPhones are rumored to feature significant upgrades, including edge-to-edge OLED displays, improved cameras, and enhanced performance. These hardware improvements, combined with the new features in iOS 11, promise to deliver a compelling user experience.
As soon as we get some details on exactly when the software is coming, we will let you guys know. In the meantime, if you are participating in the beta testing program, be sure to provide feedback to Apple to help them refine and improve the final release.
