Apple has today announced that its promotional codes, that were only redeemable in the US, are now valid Worldwide. Allowing iTunes users outside the US to now take advantage of developer promotional codes on purchases.
However the promotional codes are only for iOS apps and developers will not be able to create valid codes for use with the Mac OS X app store when it launches in the not to distant future.
Apple released this announcement to the developer community :
Your promo code distribution is no longer limited to U.S. customers. Promo codes in iTunes Connect can now be redeemed by all App Store customers worldwide. Your Team Agent can request 50 codes per version of your app in iTunes Connect and your customers can redeem these codes in any App Store.
