Apple is planning to open both retail stores and an Apple online store in India, the company has applied to the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) in India.
Apple has not revealed how many stores they plan to open in India and have not confirmed how much will be invested in the country.
Apple is continuing its global roll out of its Apple retail stores, the past major push was in China and this helped the company increase sales of devices and also increased their profits significantly.
India could be another massive market for Apple, the reason that Apple has not had a retail store in India before is due to previous trade restrictions for foreign companies, these were changed back in November.
