Apple has started offering iPhone 5 Screen Replacement in store, if you need a display replaced it will set you back $149.99, and Apple are offering the repairs in store in an attempt to cut repair costs.
The $149 replacement is available with or without AppleCare+, which costs $99 up front and then $49 for each repair, so basically it will cost you the same for a new display with or without the AppleCare+.
Previously if you needed a screen repaired, Apple would just replace the handset and would charge you a fee, obviously Apple thinks it can save some money by offering the repairs direct in store instead of swapping your handset for a new one.
