First we had Facebook and Google abusing the Apple Enterprise Developer program, then we heard yesterday that it was being used to distribute adult content and gambling apps. Now it has been discovered that it is also be used to distribute pirated apps and games.
According to a recent report by Reuters, pirates are using the Apple Enterprise Developer program to distribute pirated games and apps.
Some pirated software distributors have been distributing popular games and apps like Pokemon Go and Minecraft and others.
This is starting to become a problem for Apple with their Apple Enterprise Developer program being abused and not being used as it was intended. The company has said that anyone found violating their policies will have the licenses terminated.
“Developers that abuse our enterprise certificates are in violation of the Apple Developer Enterprise Program Agreement and will have their certificates terminated, and if appropriate, they will be removed from our Developer Program completely,” an Apple spokesperson told Reuters. “We are continuously evaluating the cases of misuse and are prepared to take immediate action.”
Apple obviously needs to address the issue as it appears that it is widespread and their program is being used to distribute adult content, pirated appsm gambling apps and more.
