Last month we heard that Apple were reorganizing their Apple Car project and now according to a recent report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has cancelled the hardware part of the project and is instead working on software.
According to the report, hundreds of engineers and members of the car team have left the project, they have either been reassigned, let go or left on their own, Apple was rumored to have a team of $1,000 working in the project.
The project is now focusing on the software rather than the actual Apple Car and this has now given Apple two options to choose from in the future.
Apple can either choose to partner with other car makers with their car software, or they can choose to return to developing their own hardware, this will apparently happen next year.
