Apple and Samsung have been battling it out in various courts around the world over the last few months, and one of the most important court cases between the two tech giants starts today in the US.
Both Apple an Samsung are accusing each other of infringing on their respective patents, and preliminary cases leading up to this one has already seen the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 banned from sale in the US.
Apple is claiming that Samsung copied its designs for the iPhone and iPad, Samsung are claiming that Apple has infringed on a number of their patents, and the outcome of this case could have a bearing on the various other cases between the two companies around the world.
Which ever company wins the latest case in the US, we can expect an appeal from the loser, and we suspect it could be some time before the outcome of the US case is determined.
Samsung could face a permanent ban on their Galaxy devices in the US if they loose this case with Apple, and Apple are claiming around $1.6 billion in damages from Samsung.
