HTC has been rolling out the Android Marshmallow update to a number of devices, and the latest one is the HTC Desire Eye.
The Android Marshmallow update has apparently been released for the handset in the UAE and some European countries including Italy. It will apparently be released in the US on AT&T later this month.
The update is around 1.6GB in size and it brings the handset up to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. You can check to see if it is available for your handset from the settings menu.
New Features and Improvements
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow brings a host of new features and improvements to the HTC Desire Eye. One of the most notable additions is the Doze mode, which significantly enhances battery life by putting the device into a deep sleep state when it is not in use. This can be particularly beneficial for users who often find themselves running low on battery.
Another key feature is the improved app permissions system. With Marshmallow, users have more control over the permissions that apps request. Instead of granting all permissions at once during installation, users can now approve or deny permissions as needed, providing greater security and privacy.
The update also includes Google Now on Tap, which provides contextual information based on the content currently displayed on your screen. For example, if you are reading an article about a movie, you can hold the home button to get more information about the movie, including reviews, trailers, and showtimes.
Enhanced User Experience
The HTC Desire Eye’s update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow also brings a more refined user experience. The user interface has been polished with smoother animations and transitions, making navigation more fluid and enjoyable. Additionally, the update includes a new app drawer design, which organizes apps in a more intuitive and accessible manner.
For photography enthusiasts, the update enhances the camera performance of the HTC Desire Eye. The camera app now launches faster, and there are improvements in image processing, resulting in better photo quality. The Desire Eye, known for its impressive front-facing camera, benefits from these enhancements, making it an even better choice for selfie lovers.
The update also includes the latest security patches, ensuring that your device is protected against the latest threats. This is particularly important in today’s digital age, where security vulnerabilities are constantly being discovered and exploited.
